Scenes nobody photographs, drawn and printed to order.
Noventey makes illustrated apparel about the moments a city or a craft does not usually show: the laundromat at two in the morning, the first minute on a potter's wheel, the last train of the night, a print arriving in the developer under a red safelight. Each design is drawn as a scene somebody could stand in, then printed oversized on soft natural cotton.
Four collections
- After Closing - the city after it closes. Five hours nobody photographs.
- Material Memory - what hands leave in a material, and what the material keeps.
- Public Signals - transport, light and the language of getting somewhere.
- Darkroom Process - five moments from making a photograph by hand.
Each collection is one idea followed to its end. Earlier releases stay available in Previous Editions.
How a piece is made
Every artwork is original and drawn for Noventey. No stock graphic, licensed character, photograph or existing illustration is traced or copied. The print is set on the garment at real size and measured in inches on the actual shirt before it ships: about 14 by 17 inches across the chest, with a high-density transfer so the grain and colour survive the wash.
Printed one at a time
Nothing is made before you order it. Each shirt is printed for a single order and shipped directly, so there is no warehouse behind this shop and no unsold stock at the end of a season. Free worldwide shipping with no minimum, flat garment measurements published for every size, and 30 days to change your mind.
